Full Stomachs and Open Minds at Thanksgiving Event

COM Students, Clubs, Honor Societys, Student Government, Meet at IVC on Nov.19th.

On November 19th Students from both campus gather at Indian Valley Campus, at Associated Students of IVC's Thanksgiving Dinner Event. At 11am COM students, faculty, and staff descended on the meal, leaving very little left of the meal that would cost around $2,300.
Which held in the Miwok Cluster, lunch was held in the Foreign Languages Building and the desert in the Artist Honor Society Art Gallery, on second floor of near by IVC Fine Arts.
New Director of Student Activities Stacey Cook and Art Teacher Kent Rupp acted as advisors. Members of ASCOM, AHS, Student Trustee Jim Geraghty, Kent. Senator at Large Jesse Shepherd, and John Quinley helped out with the event.
Meetings were held for the AHS (College of Marin's all art form club), in the Gallery, were multi media and fine art students discussed future shows and events of various kinds. This was followed by a ASIVC meeting.
While Sigma Nu, IVC's Alpha Gamma Sigma Chapter, had a meeting in the other building.
There was a planned meeting at 2pm when meal ended in Foreign Languages Building for the Region 3 Committee to create separate constitutions for California Student Association of Community College and the Statewide Student Senate. But no one attended, so the meeting was cancelled.
A special area was prepared for IVC Pre-School Students.
Canned Food was collected for the poor and what leftovers there were give to the Hamilton Fields homeless shelter near by in Novato.
