Following that are seven more pre-season events, all of which are road games.
"I'm glad were playing away from home as much as possible before the season starts because it will get us acclimated to play in foreign environments," said Head Coach Mike Fulton.
Fulton has high expectations for his team this year.
"This is the best team we've had since I've been here," said Fulton. He has coached the Mariners since 1996. Last year the team was a game away from the State Championship. Fulton believes that this year the team will make it there.
"Our goal is to win the State Championship," said Fulton. "Now that we've had some success we're the hunted instead of the hunter."
According to Fulton, the Mariners' new arrival in Tyeisha Brown is the best point guard in the state. She decided to transfer from Cal-State because her team there played so poorly. The Mariners also have comeback player Petra Dunn who played at COM two years ago. She averaged 14 points per game and 5 assists per game on a team that won 23 of its 36 games. Sophomore guard Destiny Nowlin is a key role-player for the Mariners as the "sixth man".
At Center 5'11" Tiffany Shepard will be getting "quality minutes" according to Fulton.
"Tiffany is a great rebounder and has really improved both offensively and defensively," said the Coach. At power forward, 6' sophomore Catherine Gravelle will be starting while freshman Virginia Kudritzkin will take the helm at point guard.
The Mariners don't have single weak link on their 12-person roster.
"We have big-time depth," said Fulton.
